StoreSuite is one of the products being developed as per their commitment. StoreSuite is a complete PHP and MySQL based e-Commerce platform that’s currently being developed by Interspire. StoreSuite includes everything necessary to sell physical / digital products (e-Books, etc)/ services online. This product has been designed to integrate easily with all major payment gateways. Beside that it is 100% HTML template driven .The product also includes a powerful control panel and host of other features to list!(seems very interesting)
Mitchell Harper is the lead developer of this product as well as co-founder of Interspire along with Eddie Machaalani.
StoreSuite started to take shape way back in 2005 however it stalled because other products, specifically SendStudio and ArticleLive were gaining astronomical popularity and taking up a significant amount of time in terms of product development and customer support to cause the StoreSuite considerable delay.
To bridge the shortage of developers the company hired another 4 developers (bringing the total to 13) and day to day processes involved in running Interspire were fine tuned. This resulted in commencement of the development on StoreSuite.
Harper resumed StoreSuite development on July 5th 2007, at that time it was barely 50% complete. Now the work on the project is moving on nicely, and it is expected to be in final shape ready for the launch in Q4 of 2007.
Harper has started a blog recently to discuss about the designing and development process of StoreSuite. They will be using this blog to talk about the complete design and development process including everything from usability to database queries and optimization (with the help of their database gurus Chris and Rod) and everything in between. Some of the features incorporated in the StoreSuite are–
• Excellent shipping services with wide range of choice-
ou simply choose which shipping providers you want to use in your store and StoreSuite does the est, passing back data to each shipper’s web service when a shipping quote is required during checkouts.
• Design mode allows you to change the layout of your shop by dragging and dropping panels where you want them to appear. As soon as you rearrange a panel the changes are persisted in real-time using Ajax.
• When customer adds a product to their cart they will be presented with a suggested list of other products which they may also be interested in.
